Thinking back throughout the semester I have come to realize that painting is not my medium. I have all though come to appreciate painting for what it is. For me I wanted painting to be this crisp form with outlines, and obvious edges. My desire was to make my work with a photo like quality, but I realized very quickly that this was not going to work for me. I became infatuated with the human form. I began to realize that the strengths in my ability to paint would come out once I figured out how to let go. This class has made me realize that sometimes less is more. Leaving things out or distorted can make something so much more visually interesting than having a perfectly crisp form.
For the past three years I have been attending St. Cloud University; where i have been working on art as much as possible. After becoming very home sick i decided to transfer to UW Menomonie and continue with my work. I love hard work and being creative, so the move just seemed to fit.
